Many have been asking for a train ride and to see the amazing city of Tacoma. So here it is all in one! We will take Amtrak from Salem to Tacoma and back. While in Tacoma there will be walking on this tour. We will use their Link Rail System to get us to the downtown Tacoma Museum District where in addition to visiting the Museum of Glass, Tacoma Art Museum, Washington History Museum and Union Station, there are plenty of boutique shops and restaurants. The waterfront is also connected to downtown by the 500-foot-long Chihuly Bridge of Glass with its beautiful Crystal Towers, Venetian Wall and Seaform Pavilion all created by Dale Chihuly, Tacoma native. Everything is close by, but to best meet everyone’s own personal desires in a city such as Tacoma your typical “guided” tour will be limited in order for everyone to see more of what they want.
Lodging within walking distance at the 5-star Hotel Murano rated the Sixth Best Hotel in the U.S. by Conde’ Nast Traveler magazine. The hotel features glass art on every floor!
