As we travel through Eastern Oregon the scenery will change from the lush Cascades to the snow capped peaks of the Wallowas to the colorful Painted Hills of John Day. We will take a ride on the Eagle Cap Excursion Train through the rugged and roadless canyon country along the banks of the Grande Ronde River and the “Wild and Scenic” Wallowa River. We will take the Wallowa Lake Tramway up Mt. Howard to enjoy spectacular views and lunch; visit Joseph known for its bronze works; see fireworks over Wallowa Lake; visit the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center in Baker City; John Day Fossil Beds National Monument and Painted Hills.
